"Oh rascal children of Gaza. You who constantly disturbed me with your screams under my window. You who filled every morning with rush and chaos. You who broke my vase and stole the lonely flower on my balcony. Come back, and scream as you want and break all the vases. Steal all the flowers. Come back..Just come back.." — Khaled Juma, a Palestinian poet from Gaza.  (via nowinexile)

Anonymous asked:
did you ever consider that some white people aren't actually aware of their privilege, cultural appropriation, etc. and that they're kind of just going through life not realizing that they're doing anything wrong and they're not against anyone or trying to hurt anybody, they're just unaware?

And that’s the greatest privilege of all isn’t it? To be able to do whatever you want, regardless of how damaging and harmful it is, and being able to excuse it all because you “didn’t know”.

POC are constantly always checking what we’re doing. We have to ask ourselves all the time, is this okay? Will this make me seem like a FOB? IF I say this in class, will people think I’m too extreme? Am I being too sensitive when I get angry about this?

Until we no longer have to do that, I have no sympathy for ignorance. It won’t kill you to Google a few things.
